The Independent Policing Review - March 2008
The Independent Policing Review final report recommends 'radical changes' that could free up the equivalent of 3,000 additional officers. In the main this means streamlining administrative tasks, and making better use of technology.
Key recommendations contained within the report include:
- improving and strengthening the structures and systems that support policing;
- better resource management to improve performance and develop the workforce;
- reducing unnecessary bureaucracy; and
- working closely with local residents.
