Staying Safe Action Plan

Staying Safe Action Plan - January 2008

The Staying Safe Action Plan for children covers three main areas:

  1. universal safeguarding – the creation of safe environments for children;
  2. targeted safeguarding to reduce the risks of harm for vulnerable groups of children and young people;
  3. responsive safeguarding, involving responding effectively when children are harmed.

This is the Action Plan to assist delivery of the new Public Service Agreement to improve children and young people’s safety. It has many overlaps with community safety – including the need to improve the safety of children of substance misusing parents; the need to tackle young people being drawn into sex work; and the need to divert young people away from involvement in gangs.
The Plan is available here.
