 NCSN Guide to CDRP/CSP Working

An NCSN induction guide for practitioners

This guide focuses on partnership working and the delivery of community safety. It describes the main features of CDRPs / CSPs; highlights key elements of the current reform programme; summarises relevant policies and legislation; provides a brief overview of the key concepts in community safety, and gives links to sources for further information. The guide covers the whole raft of national strategies, action plans and policies that will affect community safety over the next few years – revealing the full breadth of national policy to be taken into account when planning and delivering community safety work. It is primarily designed to provide new CDRP / CSP Board Members with a helpful information resource – but established members of CDRPs / CSPs and other community safety practitioners will also find this guide a useful reference document.

This is only available to members as part of the membership benefits package. However, if you wish to purchase this downloadable document the cost is: £25, please contact the Head Office T: 01244-322314. To become a member of the NCSN please click here.

The 'Introduction to Community Safety'. It aims to provide those new to community safety with an induction to this field of work. It is a resource that can be used either as a quick reference guide to selected topics, or as a manual of key information relating to community safety. It also contains information on where to find more  guidance.

The 'Guide to Community Safety Legislation and Policy' can be used either as a quick overview of the legal and policy background to community safety work, or as a more detailed source of reference.

Also available is the 'Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership and Public Service Reform Pack'. This essential guide describes the main elements of the CDRP reform programme and the wide-ranging public sector reforms that are changing the context within which community safety is delivered.
