National Community Safety Network (NCSN) - Job Vacancy

Policy Officer – (part-time up to 20 hours per week, salary up to £34,125 p.a.* pro-rata)

Join our leading national community safety charity and help shape policy and practice! 

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic policy officer to provide a quality service to our membership and to help us develop our role as the national voice of community safety.

By working proactively with our members, you will provide briefings and co-ordinate NCSN views and responses on policy and practice.  You will also contribute to our newspaper and website and support our conference and seminar programme.

You will:
·    have excellent and demonstrable analytical and report-writing skills
·    be an excellent communicator, and have tact and diplomacy
·    have policy experience and/or community safety experience and be educated to degree-level or above
·    be flexible and willing to travel when the role requires
·    be self-motivated and able to use their own initiative
·    be able to work to tight deadlines

We are seeking a person for up to 20 hours per week, either as an appointment or  through a secondment.   You will be working from home, or, if seconded, from your current employer’s offices (by agreement).

* Based on a 37.5 hour week

Closing Date: 30 June 2009 (noon). Interviews to take place on the 28 July in York.
