Adam Crawford is Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice and Director of the Centre for Criminal Justice Studies at the University of Leeds. His publications include The Local Governance of Crime (1997), Crime Prevention and Community Safety (1998), Crime and Insecurity (2002) and Plural Policing (2005). His latest book is an edited collection entitled Crime Prevention Policies in Comparative Perspectives which brings together contributions from leading European commentators to assess the development of crime prevention and community safety over the last two decades. |

Margaret Shaw is the Director of Analysis and Exchange at The International Centre for the Prevention of Crime, Montreal, Canada. Much of her recent work has included studies of women's imprisonment offending and victimization, as well as restorative justice, community corrections and criminal policy. Her international experience at ICPC includes contribution to the Expert Group Meeting on the UN Guidelines for Crime Prevention (2002); an Expert Group Meeting on youth at risk in Africa (2002); work with the Programme Network Institutes of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. |

Elizabeth Johnston is the Deputy Director of the European Forum for Urban safety (EFUS). This is a network and think tank gathering more than 300 local authorities: it endeavors to enhance safety policies based on a balance between prevention, repression and solidarity, and to consolidate the role of cities and local representatives in local safety policy partnerships throughout Europe. She has focused her work on providing support to intercity cooperation, collaborating with European instances and intergovernmental organizations and studying thematic areas such as at risk youth and unaccompanied minors. |
